Does anyone here know if you can use a zip-tie instead of a traditional lock on the CB-2000/3000/6000?

I don't know for sure, but I can't imagine any reason you wouldn't be able to. In fact, the CB3000 comes with a set of five numbered plastic one-time locks. Similar idea to using zip ties, except they have unique numbers on them so the sub can't break them and then swap them for a fresh one without making it obvious.

You might want to look at the new pictures I just posted in the CB3000 review sub-forum. Very small zip ties would work. It may work best to get the device and then search for the ties. I have ties I use for art projects that are about that size however and know they exist.
I highly recommend getting the KSD-G2 if you get the CB3000. The device is worthless without it.
Hope that helps you out!
Ninja edit: Attached a picture of the hole the zip tie would need to fit through. The tiny ones will fit.
