I have been meaning to get these little home made items up for a while and at the recent prompting of a member I am finally getting around to it!
So for these you will need one regular wire coat hanger, those flimsy ones from the dry cleaner are ideal. You will also need a set of linesmans pliers, mine as you can see in the photos are well worn. If you don't have any it's worth buying some just for this. You use these to both cut and bend the hanger into the required shapes.
Start by cutting one arm off the hanger using the cutter section of your pliers.
Then bend the cut section to match the spreader in the photo.
Cut off the second arm,
Then bend this section to match the second spreader in this photo.
You now have two devices.
The first one is designed to be used sideways, legs spread and the hooks held back with straps or tape around your upper thighs.
The second one runs front to back and the hooks this time attach to either rubber bands or cord that run to a belt worn around the waist.
Just one word of warning, be careful of the cut ends as they are left quite sharp by the cutting, you can file them smooth or cap them with a few wraps of electrical insulation tape.
Enjoy!
