I hafta say, Your request is rather vague. I have made a few home built devices but to answer your question I will need to ask a few of my own. What kind of devices are you looking to build? What materials are you wanting to use? What materials do you have experience with? Are you a grower or a shower? Do you have any piercings?

Or you could check some of the album here on kinktalk. I saw one pic where a guy was wearing some kind of chastity belt made with toilet roll. I thought it was a really good idea.
