I guess my ploy is not working, I've already had 7 extensions and I'm up to 14 days so far, not quite what I had in mind.

I never even noticed the unlimited extention option so both my current pictures are limited to 50.

I don't have any evidence that they actually did this, however, being a computer engineer (and a webmaster in particular) I can certify that it is indeed possible to embed functioning malware in a JPG picture...

The other image types, I don't think so... But at least in a JPG it can be done.

Actually, I saw some accusations on GetDare about a particular gal (or guy?) who had seen some of their pictures on some porn site.

Be careful, this is just hearsay.

Once more, I don't have any experience with the site in particular, but being a webmaster I can also certify this possibility as BS.

If something like that happened to me, I would have a replacement site up in another webhost within a few hours, and the new host will be available from anywhere on the internet (for technical reasons beyond my control) in 48-72 more hours.
