This is a tutorial on one easy method to start yourself on self bondage. It is a basic technique that allows you to bind wrists and ankles and then connect them in various ways using locks or caribiners, etc.
To begin you will need some rope, I recommend using 5-6mm (3/16-1/4") soft poly rope which is cheap and easy to get from hardware stores. Cut the rope into 4 lengths of 2m (6') and melt the ends with a flame so they don't fray.
You will also need 4 metal rings, around 40mm (1 1/2") is ideal, again these can be easily found at hardware stores in the section that has chain accessories.
And one final bit of kit, before attempting any rope bondage have a good pair of EMT bandage scissors handy(just google them, cheap on Amazon). Sometimes you get stuck and need to get rope off quickly, these will get you out without cutting you in the process.
The method is based on simply binding each wrist and ankle individually, the rings provide easy attachment points to connect these together or to other objects.
Start by folding a rope section in half, pass the loop end through the ring then pull the loose ends back through the loop.
Pull this up nice and tight.
Pass the loose ends around your wrist and then back between the ropes near the ring.
Now pull the loose ends back against the ring and tighten snugly against your wrist.
At this point you have the basis for what is a very secure tie, the wrapping back creates a firm binding but by not going too tight you allow good blood circulation so the tie can be used for extended periods of time.
