The two existing Mastermind threads have been pretty popular but they do involve a lot of time from both code setter and participants so in consultation with @nina I have devised a new format open to everyone.
The key here is to reduce the game to a faster, more easily handled experience. As you will have guessed from the title the first change will be that this is One on One, one code setter and one guesser. This is because we have set a 12 guess limit, also the code length is reduced to 6 and to further simplify it using numbers instead of letters. So here are the full rules.
Once a challenger accepts the game is on between these player only until the code is guessed or all 12 guesses are used up.
So, jump in, have fun and if you have any questions just ask!

- Code to be set of 6 numbers, from 0-9, repeats allowed but not required.
- Game is played between two players only, code setter/scorer and guesser.
- Scoring uses the traditional Cows (right number, wrong position) and Bulls (right number, right position) method.
- Maximum of 12 guesses allowed, if not guessed setter retains the right to set the next round, can be same or different guesser.
- If code is guessed correctly the guesser becomes the new Mastermind and sets the next code.
- Guesses can be up to 3 at a time until the sixth guess, from the seventh onwards only one guess per turn.
- Ideally the round should be played in real time or close to, i.e. both players on site at the same time.
- Guesses and scoring to be posted in this thread for all to see, at least 6 guesses/checks per 24 hours or game is assumed dead and a new round can be started by anyone.
- Guesser can give up by posting "Give up!" at any point to end the round.
