I've noticed it seems the majority of people looking for exposure or humiliation on sites like this are male, and I'm wondering why that might be. Is it that male-identifying persons tend to seek exposure and humiliation more because of societal standards for men? Is it that male-identifying folks tend to be more participant in online communities like these? Let's talk about it - I want to know what drew you to forums like this/online kink communities in general and what it is you like about exposure (and/or humiliation). I'd love to hear from all genders - what's your experience?

I believe males are just more pushy. Also I noticed most people who love to expose themselves are not always happy with their physical appearance so the experience would indulge them (I include myself). Plus women are most likely to be contacted and asked so they don't feel the need to expose by themselves if you know what I mean.

I get what you mean, but I've also definitely had to put some work in to even get people asking. It's just interesting to me that there's such a HUGE imbalance here.

It may also be that the gender imbalance of the site as a whole is way out of whack, something like 80% of the active members are males which tends to skew everything.

There aren't very many female exposers either, it's commonly men that are participating on both sides and as a result, females being exposed may get a lot more attention than the guys do. That could result in a female getting exposed not feeling the need to push it any further, but an exposed guy might need to pursue exposure further in order to feel like the kink has been satisfied.

So, as a result females are more hesitant to start and less likely to keep looking for it after they have. And so at the very least it looks like there's a huge imbalance.

This is all a pet hypothesis. I don't really know. I do think there are quite a few females that are interested/curious about it.

I'm sure there are. I'm just interested in why they're not as much a vocal part of the community.

I think when it comes to kinky sex women are just a kinky as men but they are embarrassed by it not many women are as accepting of there kink desires and fantasies as the wonderful ladies that grace this site. I guess it comes from social conditioning. It is a fact that women from more liberal countries having grown up with more liberal attitudes embrace sex much more freely than those from repressed and religious countries that see sex as dirty or shameful. I have found that far more men admit to being a bit kinky to fellow men and women than women do. Is it that men are better at overriding their social conditioning.

There is also with the majority of women and I don't mean this in an offensive way, to follow the heard. Advertisers have used the fact for many years to sell things. Look at fashion, many women won't be seen dead in something that was last years fashion were men will wear their clothes to destruction. Women are very much ago with the crowd, I don't want to stand out type. Take my wife for instance ( no, really do take her , lol. just kidding dear.) She works with a bunch of other women and I always know when there is a new fad on the go because my wife will have to have it as do all the other women and before you know it they are all looking, talking and doing the same thing.

You take two women talking both of them have secret kinky desires, one day one the first women gets brave and brings the subject up in conversion. The second woman due to her social conditioning and embarrassment puts the subject down not because she has no interest in it or wishes to learn but because she thinks it isn't the done thing she doesn't want to stand out as being different to the normal. Now the second lady retracts on broaching the other subject. Now that second woman when she meets a third woman who also might bring up kinky sex in conversation then kills the subject dead because she thinks that is the norm. Look at the fifty shades of grey book/movie once that had become a fad many, many women were happy to admit they fancy a bit of bdsm that wouldn't have even dreamed of admitting such a thing before.

If it became a fashion tomorrow for women to post photos of naked men on the web we would be inundated with women willing to post naked men but until it seems the norm for women to express themselves in such a way it won't happen.

I have known women that actually wanted to and enjoyed exposing me and to my cost, there have been a few that took it far further than I thought. Some of it was to do with power exchange games and or them wishing to embarrass and humiliate me because that was their kink and I found that once one woman admitted to enjoying it then suddenly she had a friend to whom she had sent my photos and she was posting them and wanting more.

Then there is the fact that it is usually a submissive act to have one's photos exposed to the world, it is giving the exposurer/dominant a sense of power over you and as there are far more submissive women again due to social conditioning than dominant ones you get an imbalance.

It is only because of a few brave strong female individuals that have come out and said screw what society thinks this is what I want to do and I'm going to do it, that women have come to the fore in sexual kinks.

Personally, I will always be on the side and help any woman that wants to break free of societies repression and be and do as she really wants to.

Speech over, now the neigh sayers can come out.

After my rant I thought I better actually answer the question. I've been exposed by having my naked photos posted by both men and women and personally I have a love /hate thing about it. I'm shy and I hate the thought of others seeing me naked and the risk of being recognised by someone is really scary. It is embarrassing and humiliating but I find the fact that someone has the power and gets turned on by causing me that embarrassment and humiliation to be an incredible turn on myself.

Just a comparison: looking on temporarily.exposed. Most posts are made by males. Most female photos are posted by males. Very rare a woman exposed herself (and if anyone did I remember she was from our kinktalk ;) )
The percentage of women taking part is really low in most fetish websites. I remember a porn forum where there were about 2 or 3 women noticed out of over 30K or 300K members (I forgot).

Maybe they are more aware of trusting someone more than males do. Most trolls are males so I understand the worries.

I think many of the points made above are excellent.

I have a theory, and it's just an armchair theory, that a lot of things men do online are because they are unable to (or can't) experience it in real life. I get turned on by the idea of someone wanting to see me nude (for their amusement and my humiliation), but it's never going to happen in real life. Nobody is ever going to walk up to me and ask for it and there's no way in regular encounters with people that the topic is going to come up.

Women, on the other hand, regardless of how attractive/unattractive, fat/thin, etc. you may think you are...you can't go anywhere in the real world without somebody bothering you to show your tits or engage in casual sex or whatever. So there's no need to go online to find that type of objectification (as pointed out above, it's really ingrained in our culture and women aren't supposed to like it). I suspect the few women who are online just enjoy the relatively anonymity of the Internet; where it's a "safe" space to indulge in these sort of kinks without having to worry too much about the creeps that are looking at them.

Or maybe I'm completely off base.
