I think that is mostly Unsafe Chatting Apps for minors and children.... I can see why some people might think Kik is unsafe though, considering all the Controversy of Tik Tok in the States and China basically getting users information on American citizens.

A lot of people would probably think the same of Kik.

Kik was and probably still is one of the most used apps by predators and groomers. Snapchat is also in that same range of common use for trafficking grooming or other predator actions towards minors.
Kik because it can be anon with no phone or anything attached.
Snap because chats get wiped.
