Depends what you search for... but I can tell from my experience that most porn you'll find too often have not much to do with reality. It may work for some for fantasy purposes but you won't learn much about techniques, safety measures, aftercare, and about a hundred of important things there 
Like I said it really depends what someone is searching. Each type of sites, be it porn, resources, forums and social networks serve their own purposes

This is my rule, anything I have to pay for is entertainment. Plenty of people out there who will share info if asked, they just don't know where to go with things.
I started a blog with my new sub, I'm not going into the hows to do things, if someone asks, I will be more then happy to explain. It is just a lot to write out and would take away from the lure of the writing.
Plus, I don't believe there is one set of rules for all of us. We all do things at our own pace, and in our own way. As long as things are done safely, it will work out.

There are a lot that are porn, for sure. On top of that, there are a lot that are pro-Domme (seldom pro Dom) sites too that pander to a certain demographic, and they too have their place.
There are a lot though that are community sites on which you can learn much and network too. Sites like this one will hopefully flourish and realise its full potential, but the daddy of them these days is Fetlife. In the past it was Collarme, before that bondage.com. Alt was good a few years ago but just became a paysite.
If you're in the UK you could do worse than check out informedconsent, and there may well be a site for your local munch or fet/BDSM club too if you search it out.
