I think. that's right: it's about identifying and imbuing apparently 'vanilla' actions with special significance. The kiss on the cheek is a great example - if you never do that in any other circumstance than when you are in public it can be electrifying for both partners.

High protocol arrangements can also work well when you can get away with your Master for a short period - like for a weekend in a cottage or something like that. It makes for a very intense weekend!
