Hi all! So I was walking through Wal-Mart today and noticed those shock-tennis racquet looking thingies. Aside from the obvious uses, I was wondering if there was a way to dismantle it so it only shocks whoever you're touching, like static electricity. I know how the static works, but is there a way to do something to the swatter to make it act like a constant static charge?

In a word, no. Those devices need time to charge their capacitor, which is why you hold down the button before you use it. Batteries, while they hold a huge amount of energy, don't put out much at once.

As for a "constant static charge," as you put it, look into a violet wand.
