This site might not have been the best place for this question. Most people here will be very open to online relationships and are likely having constant conversations with regular people either on apps, dating sites or casual hookups from dating sites to forfil their kinky sides.
Therefore most answers will naturally sway towards that direction as that's the norm here.
If you're not wanting to try dating sites and not interested in a bdsm relationship.
You're really only left with face to face and meeting people. Since it sounds like you're conscious about the way you look, try and meet people in an environment that isn't on looks or first impressions.
I'd recommend joining some kind of club or activity that you find fun or interesting. Try to meet people who have a common interest that you will meet regularly. You might be able to find someone there, or those people might be able to introduce you to friends or acquaintances.
Being social is the key, the more things you do, the more people you meet the more chances you'll have at finding someone. You'll be more attractive when you're having fun and enjoying yourself. Concentrate on doing something you enjoy that you find fun / interesting first and you should find it'll happen naturally.
