Advice please

I'm 26 and living in NYC. I've only dated girls in my life and had some pretty great times. With one ex a few years ago, we even started getting into kinky type stuff once I told her I was bi-curious and was also into domination. We didn't last too long and I was never able to connect with someone like that since. But I don't think I've reached my limit in terms of what I want to explore. Just so difficult to meet people willing to try different things as I'm a bit shy to talk about that stuff to new people. And I haven't really done much internet wise as its a mass of unknown (and people of not the right age...) but I'm just getting a feel for things here. Any others feel this way? Any advice?
